We had a festive and beautiful celebration of Granny’s life at Morton’s in Madisonville, complete with local friends and family, delicious Louisiana cuisine including raw oysters, and many fun tributes to Granny, including ones from Mason and Hannah, all of which emphasized her infectious joy for life, her generosity and her unshakable happiness. As Miles said, “She was the happiest person I’ve ever known.” I so enjoyed seeing everyone, some after many years, and sharing stories and memories. My mom had come to a dream and told me she would be there and I believe she was— this was the kind of celebration she would never have missed!
