Rock Hunt!

We went to the edge of the gorge to look for obsidian for the boys (it's a Minecraft thing...).  Instead, Dylan came home with a pocket full of spent bullets.  We must have ended up where people go for target practice.

Taos!

We took a weekend trip to Taos with the cousins and Mason's friend, Rachel.  It was a great mix of kids and Mason having a friend along really seemed to even out the group and eliminate any cousins tensions that might have arisen.  It was a beautiful weekend, cool with evening storms.

After Tennis Hair-Do!

He likes to drench himself with a water bottle and fashion new hair styles after a hot tennis lesson.  I don't know-- this kid might just be a major trend setter.

School Supply Shopping and Subway!

The new school year is creeping up on us! :(  Shopping for supplies with cousins makes it a lot easier, though!  And guess what!  Tomorrow is the last day of summer PE for Mason!  That means she has two high school credits under her belt already!  We ran with our buddies for a quick lunch after supply shopping with the younger kids and PE for the older ones.  These are iphone pictures so please disregard the blurriness!

Real Rain!

This was our first real rain since the ONE we had last summer and as you can see, we tend to get a bit crazed with excitement.  If it weren't for the lightning, the kids would have been out in the street rolling in the cold water.  The boy did not even think twice about running out in his skivvies...

Earl and Martha Join the Family!

Robert asked to be adopted (just so he could come home with us) but we insisted on renaming him if he was going to become an official kid in the sibling-hood.  Earl seemed appropriate.  Julia became Martha.  If you keep seeing pictures of them sitting around this table, it is because these kids are constantly hungry.  Good thing there are tennis lessons, summer PE, and the X-Box Wipe Out game to burn those calories!

Lavender Festival!

This may look like fun (and it kind of was) but the sun was so intense that we could not stay for long.  This festival used to be on the beautiful Los Poblanos grounds in the Rio Grande  Valley but this year, it was just out in an open field.  A trip to the pool to cool off was required after we left!
