During And After The Audition!

Guild Audition Day!

The waiting is the hardest part!  We arrived at our scheduled time only to find out that they were running behind. What a difference it makes in nerves if you aren't the first one to perform!  This guy started out nervous but calm, and ended up a basket case!  We had to play many games of "I Spy" and the picnic basket game just to survive the wait!

It is almost his turn and you can see his nervousness written all over his face!

I snuck this picture through the window.  He is helping he judge find his songs.

Don't be jealous, but I had the most handsome lunch date after the audition was over!

Getting Ready for National Piano Guild Auditions!

Tomorrow is Dylan's audition for the National Piano Guild!  Ten songs played by memory, one judge, no parents or teachers in the room.  He really is ready and keeps saying that he can't wait.  I am just so impressed at how well he knows TEN songs without hardly missing a beat!  Here is one of the fun, bouncy ones, Sonatina by Dennis Alexander.

Piano and Chewing Gum...

Dylan has been practicing to audition for the National Piano Guild later this month. I like it because it is a bit like a culmination of all he has learned so far.  He will play ten songs by memory for one judge.  He will also be asked to play the scales that the songs are in. I am not allowed in the room, nor is his teacher.  He has his songs down and is just cruising along practicing them every day, but I can assure you that he is more than ready to move onto new songs after this.  This is one of his songs, "Touch a Rainbow" by Dennis Alexander.  I promise there will be no gum at his audition!
