The Gas Guzzler and The Hybrid!

O.K., so we really badly needed a new trip car, one that could pull our camper and comfortably seat AND separate three kids while keeping the dog BEHIND us and not in our laps. The mini-van has served us well over the years but could not quite do all of these jobs. So--we bought a new Expedition (and I am not proud but very happy to say that we got the extra long...). The guilt, however, was starting to get to us so we turned around and bought a Camry Hybrid for all of our crazy running around to school and activities driving! Both are amazing, comfortable, and exactly what we needed! We are even able to fit all three kids in the back of the Camry! And the Expedition... sigh...exactly what I wanted... (So, anyone want to buy a Honda Odyssey???)

Dog Show!

Today, Boudreaux participated in his first dog show! It was a "fun rally" for all breeds and we were encouraged to enter him even though he has had no training what-so-ever... We had a lot of fun for the most part, although when Mason tried to show him in the "junior showmanship" catagory, we learned that some people in the rings are a little bit too serious for rallies that are supposed to be fun and Mason left in tears. She and Hannah did each get to show some smaller dogs and they enjoyed that. (I think they were secretly wondering why we had to go and get this huge puppy, but one day when that guy is trained, they will appreciate him!) In the end, he came home with a 1st place and a 2nd place ribbon. (We won't mention how many dogs participated in each of those events so that you remain properly impressed with our beloved Boudreaux..)

Tiring!

It is so tiring setting up your cars and your race track"just so" and then admiring your work! This guy just couldn't keep his eyes open! (Too bad I couldn't get a picture today when Dylan fell asleep standing up! He was in mid- conversation with me, put his head down on the sofa as he stood next to it and fell asleep.)

Hot Tub!

The kids had so much fun tree climbing! The one on the grass is an old oak that I used to climb as a kid ALL THE TIME! It is right across the street from my old house on the lakefront.
