The Girls Are Back In Town!

Back To School-- Junior and 7th Grade!

If you were wondering if I am ready for another year of school (my 15th as a parent), just know that last night I dreamed that my children and I were being forced to board a train to a concentration camp. Yep, these are the lasting effects of PTSD from the 6th grade workload last year. Here's hoping for a more manageable 7th grade. The junior, well, she is on her own. When you sign up willingly for 6 AP classes, you can count your mom out!

Getting The 7th Grade Schedule!

Don't they look thrilled? (I'm pretty sure this picture taking thing is getting old...) These two do not have a single class or lunch together.

Playdate (or do we still call them that in 7th grade?)!

Things are going downhill. They have graduated from nerf to air soft BB guns. Sigh. At least safety goggles are available...

Administrative Assistant Job!

I asked Mason for a picture from her summer job and she sent me this cute selfie. She has worked at the New Mexico Institute of Music this summer, helping with social media, advertisements, scheduling, greeting and chatting with musicians and their parents, etc. This is where Dylan takes his piano lessons.

Kumon Job!

Hannah has been working at Kumon for about a year now and I finally got a picture of her in her Kumon shirt!!! She grades papers, answers questions from students as they work on their programs, and various other jobs.

Random Lake City!

I can't describe how much I love this place. The tradition of spending time in Lake City started when my mom was young and came out with her parents and family. I know without any hesitation when I am here that I am a mountain person. I can appreciate the beaches, the desert, the south, but the forests, streams  smells, breezes and chill of the air in the mountains is what feeds my soul. Some of these pictures of the lake were taken on my morning walk when the temperature was 45-48 degrees. I imagine that if you are an early morning exerciser, you may never want to wear shorts. I even had to buy gloves for the walk!

Then and Now!

Well, I'm not the kind to live in the past
The years run too short and the days too fast
The things you lean on are the things that don't last
Well its just now and then, my line gets cast into these
Time Passages...

Silly Dylan...

Why does this crack me up so much??? Hannah was trying to get ready to take a picture of Granny and me and he was simply not going to miss being in the photo. This kid...
