Pinata!

We hated to see him go, but in the end, it was not quite as traumatic as I thought it might be. Fun was had by all, and let's be honest. His head is still hanging from the tree... Guess we need to take care of that...

Birthday Party!

On Sunday, we had a doggie birthday party for Dylan, complete with a huge dalmation pinata (pictures soon), a dalmation jumper, a doggie cake, and most importantly, lots of friends!

May All Your Wishes Come True, Little Boy!

Birthday Boy!

Happy 4th birthday to our sweet baby Dylan, boy who loves dinosaurs and doggies, who loves to sing "Defying Gravity" while wearing a witch hat and dress and holding a broom, who can't get through a day without "a little bit of arm" (snuggling with my upper arm), who is beginning to spell and read short words, who would be happy for hours with one lone can of silly string, who says "bee-cep for" for "except for", who makes fabulous and intricate arrangements of dinosaurs, dogs, and cars, whose smile lights up a whole room, and who fills our souls with joy and light every moment! We love you, our very big boy!

Pinata!

Seriously, I feel like Dylan might need counseling after we beat this adorable pinata to a pulp. (I know I will!) I mean, really, I should have asked for a fierce and scary looking dog. Then we might feel better destroying it tomorrow...

Wiped Out!

This poor little guy dislocated his right elbow last night and had to go to urgent care to have it popped back into place. This is the second time this has happened to him. The first time was two years ago when he and Daddy were playing swinging games together. This time, Hannah was comforting him because some books had fallen on his feet and she pulled him onto her lap and somehow, it popped out. Needless to say, he was in a good bit of pain. It took us three different urgent care places to find one that was open. Today, he was a tired guy...

A funny thing about Dylan is his ability to "check out". He has an uncanny knack for falling asleep when he sees a situation that he would rather not participate in. If we are somewhere boring, if he is scared of something, if he feels some sort of pain, he just nods off. Sometimes I can even say, "maybe you should close your eyes for a minute" and he konks out immediately. Well, within five minutes of getting injured last night, he was out...

Oh, and by the way, when we got home from urgent care, he announced with great enthusiasm, "I guess when you are lucky, you're just lucky!" Why was he so lucky? Because at urgent care, he got four stickers and apple juice in a funny cup with a straw.

Pianist!
