Dylan competed at the State Deca Conference. Having not practiced a bit, we didn’t expect him to go very far, but on Monday night, we found out he made it to the final round on Tuesday. He was competing in the Quick Serve Restaurant Management Role Play. That means he was the marketing manager, he got a scenario, then had ten minutes to figure out a way to pitch it to the judges, hitting specific performance indicators in a certain amount of time. We found out tonight at the awards ceremony that he placed second in state and will go to ICDC (the international competition) as a delegate from New Mexico in April in Orlando! His team also placed second in the Quiz Bowl. The first picture is of the kids who went on to finals, then his quiz bowl team, then Dylan with his teacher and my friend (who won Advisor of the Year)!
