Piano Guild, Year 4!

This sweet boy just finished auditioning for his fourth consecutive year in the National Piano Guild. I have lots of pictures to add later, but I thought I'd share the music. Here are 7 of his 9 songs. This year, he played 9 songs, scales and cadences for each song, and did ear training.

The practice room version of Prelude in C Minor, kind of zippy and not polished, but meant for finger warm-up. I just think he is so stinking cute all dressed up!

The Pups!

These two are really wonderful big dogs! Poor Winter (aka Winston) has to have knee surgery on one (and possibly both) of his knees on Friday. The worst part for him will be the nine week (!!!) confinement after. He hates to be inside. I thought I’d capture a few doggie smiles before he goes in.

Solo Recital Today

This boy had a solo cello performance today at school. He was beside himself with worry on the way to school and had a big math test before the recital. I brought his cello at lunch time and he practiced in the hall until he felt confident. (This was after hours of practice at home.) We are so relieved that it is over and he can now focus on fine-tuning his piano songs for the Guild audition. When that is over, you will all feel our collective sighs of relief wherever you are!

Yes, the Easter Bunny still comes to our house and leaves baskets and an egg hunt. He even sent an Easter basket to Mason in college, who was lamenting having to miss her first hunt.
