At the Alligator Ranch!
We spent one of our mornings in Louisiana at an alligator ranch. The people who run this ranch go out in the marshes of Louisiana and gather alligator eggs, keeping some of the baby alligators and releasing others. We were taken into a "barn" and given marshmallows to feed the alligators. Then, the guy running the show caught one for us to examine and (eek) hold! He also threw a live mouse into the water with the alligators. I was not excited to watch this and I advised Dylan to look away as I thought his little heart might be too tender to witness such cruelty. Rather than averting his eyes, he watched with great fascination and announced "I want to do the next one!" That was the moment that I realized that my son has gone "all boy".

Mandeville!
We just got back from our spring break trip to my home town, Mandeville, Louisiana! It was so nice to spend time with old friends and family and to stay on the same street that I lived on for 16 years! The kiddos loved the lakefront, the swamp, the moss, the shells, the food, the people, and the weather. So many memories to treasure! Lots more pictures coming in the next few days!
