Happy Birthday to our First Teenager!

Happy Birthday to my beautiful Mason! It all started thirteen years ago when this big lump of baby came into our lives and changed them forever! She was a big baby (9lbs, 9.10 oz) and got her shoulder stuck on the way out causing a very traumatic birth and the need to resuscitate her as soon as she was out. She spent the first night of her life in the NICU looking like a linebacker next to all of the other tiny infants. The next day, she was clear to join her family!Wow, these years have gone by quickly, but so many millions of memories have been built! I look at these pictures with nostalgia. I miss that little girl, but I also so love the young adult she has become! She is fun, independent but still loves to spend time with her family, beyond smart (truly, she blows me away), motivated, tries almost anything and puts her all into everything, sweet, and a true lover of life! I am so lucky to be the mom of this amazing girl-- she has shown me to places in my heart that I did not know existed until I met her. Thank you, Baby Girl!

Christmas Eve!

The Tradition:

First, we make the luminarias and set them out!

Then, we have a wonderful dinner at the cousin's house after driving around looking at lights!

Next, we go home for hot chocolate and open some new Christmas jammies!

Then, we throw out reindeer food on the front lawn!

Then we wonder about Santa...

We read "The Night Before Christmas!

We also read "A Pirate's Night Before Christmas", of course!
